Dental Practice Made Simple is a video series from DrBicuspid.com and Levin Group. Tune in every Wednesday for a quick tip from Dr. Roger P. Levin to learn how to build high-powered, proven systems that lead to practice success.

There are three key numbers that tell you how your dental practice is doing overall: production, overhead, and profit. In the latest episode of Dental Practice Made Simple, Levin explained how these three macro numbers relate to each other and your practice success.

"If production is great and overhead is controlled, profit will also be great," he said. "The key message here is that production is directly proportional to most practice success."

Levin outlined the percentage overhead practices should target by specialty, ranging from a low of 42% overhead for endodontists to a high of 71% for prosthodontists. He also advised determining an annual production goal to track production.

"We know that production is the single most important factor for driving dental practice success," Levin said.

Watch the video below to learn more about how to implement these three tracking systems in your own practice.
