One way to hit your production goal is to have a dentist work two rooms at once using smart, accelerated scheduling, Levin said in the latest episode of Dental Practice Made Simple. When well constructed, this simple practice can raise production by 30%, Levin said.
"Working two rooms means you have two rooms working equally," he said. "You have two assistants who can accept a lot of delegation. The dentist moves comfortably back and forth."
One common pitfall that Levin sees is dentists who think they're working two rooms but aren't fully establishing that setup. A well-implemented setup should result in more production and the dentist being less tired at the end of the day, Levin said.
