Dr. Weidong Wang, the operator of A New Image Dentist in Seaside, CA, pleaded not guilty to three misdemeanor counts of sexual battery. Also, criminal protective orders were issued on behalf of his alleged victims, according to the story.
In November 2024, police charged Wang with sexual battery. Since his arrest, other alleged victims have contacted police. Police stated that Wang has had allegations levied against him since 2017.
In addition to the criminal charges, Wang, 63, is facing a lawsuit filed by a 40-year-old male patient and a 24-year-old female patient, claiming he touched them inappropriately during dental treatment. In the lawsuit filed in November 2024, Wang’s alleged victims accused him of engaging in sexual battery, gender violence, and negligence.
In the suit, the male patient claims that Wang sexually abused, battered, and harassed him during two visits at his dental practice in 2024. The man claims that Wang grabbed his penis and testicles over his clothes and fondled him.
During these visits, the man alleged that Wang injected him in the mouth with a substance that he believed to be a numbing agent, but which left him heavily sedated instead of numb. Despite his heavily sedated state, the man claims he was able to videotape Wang fondling him. He gave the video to the police the next morning.
In September 2021, the woman claims that Wang sexually abused her during dental treatment. Wang allegedly fondled her breasts over her clothes while she was sitting in the dentist's chair. She claims she held up her hand to get him to stop, but Wang pushed her hand down and allegedly said, "It's OK." He reportedly stopped touching her, so she allowed him to complete her dental care, according to the lawsuit.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
