A patient who reportedly trashed a dental practice in Scotland and attacked a dentist after she was told she was late for her appointment was sentenced to 12 months supervision, according to multiple news stories published on January 19.
Denise Gallagher, 35, who was convicted of assault, threatening or abusive behavior, and making abusive remarks, was sentenced to a six-month curfew with electronic monitoring, according to the stories.
In December 2024, Gallagher allegedly trashed Abbeyview Dental Surgery in Kilwinning, Scotland, after she was told she was late for her dental appointment. Gallagher reportedly responded, throwing a fire extinguisher at Dr. Janet Jardine and trying to grab the dentist by the neck and punch her, according to the stories.
Gallagher purportedly smashed things at the practice, including kicking and damaging a box of dentures, according to the stories.
At her sentencing, Gallagher faced jail time. However, the judge gave the lighter sentence, hoping she would learn from her disgraceful behavior, according to the stories.
