It’s been a week-plus since a dentist and his wife were found shot to death at their home in Ohio, and all authorities have released is footage of a “person of interest” as they continue to search for their killer, according to multiple news reports.

The surveillance video shows an unidentified person walking in the alley near the Columbus, OH, home of Dr. Spencer Tepe and his wife Monique in the early morning hours of December 30. Authorities believe the couple, who were a month away from celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, were murdered between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. on December 30.

Since the murders, police have been mum on details, including a possible motive. The case continues to be investigated as a double homicide since there were no obvious signs of forced entry and no firearm was found at the residence. Additionally, the couple’s children, ages 1 and 4, who were at home at the time of the shootings, were unharmed.

On the morning of December 30, the owner of Athens Dental Depot in Columbus, OH, called 911 after Tepe uncharacteristically failed to show up for work and neither he nor his wife could be reached. Additionally, co-workers went to the Tepe home. When they arrived, they heard children crying, but no one answered the door.

Not long after that, someone called the police, saying Spencer Tepe’s body could be seen inside the home, and he appeared dead. The dentist was shot multiple times, and his wife was shot once. In addition to the children being unharmed, the family dog was not hurt, according to stories.

Some news outlets have reported that a woman called 911 to report what police dispatchers have called a “domestic dispute” at the Tepe home months before the husband and wife were murdered.

After the unknown woman abruptly hung up, dispatchers called back. Though the woman was crying throughout the call, she claimed, “Me and my man got into it,” but that she was OK. Also, she allegedly told dispatchers that the altercation did not get physical, according to new stories.

The Tepe family said that the woman who made the 911 call was not Monique, claiming it definitely was not her voice, according to stories.

Nevertheless, a cousin of the couple, Audrey Mackie, created a GoFundMe fundraiser to support Spencer and Monique’s surviving children. As of this reporting, more than 1,600 donations have been made totaling $180,000. The fundraising goal is $200,000, and donations can be made via this GoFundMe page.

“The abrupt loss of Spencer and Monique has changed daily life in ways that are still unfolding,” Mackie wrote on the GoFundMe page. “This fund exists to help provide stability and care for their children and the immediate family members who are supporting them during this time.”
