Dr. Weidong Wang, the operator of A New Image Dentist in Seaside, CA, is charged with sexual battery, according to a police press release. As news broke of Wang's arrest, other alleged victims have contacted police, according to multiple news reports.

Wang, 63, who was arrested as he was opening his dental practice for the day, was booked on a $30,000 bail hold.

His arrest came after multiple allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with patients during dental procedures.

One male patient accused Wang of sexual battery while he was unable to move during a dental procedure. Additionally, Wang allegedly committed sexual battery against a medically incapacitated patient who had been administered anesthesia, according to reports.

Police said that allegations about Wang have been brewing since 2017. Then, three patients reported similar allegations to police, but charges were not filed because they were beyond the statute of limitations.

In response to the police press release, which was posted on Facebook, some people commented that they were not surprised to learn of Wang's arrest, and another person posted, "Thank you lord because nobody believe me."

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
