A boy with no allergies or medical conditions other than asthma died May 6 while under sedation for a dental procedure at a practice in Oklahoma, according to multiple news stories published on May 8.
The child experienced a cardiac event about 35 minutes after being administered anesthesia for a dental procedure at Edmond Pediatric & Teen Dentistry in Edmond, OK. The identity and age of the child have been withheld.
Staff at the dental practice took lifesaving measures and called 911 before the boy was taken to a local children’s hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the stories.
