A patient has filed a lawsuit against a dentist in Minnesota claiming he tried to give her eight crowns, four root canals, and 20 restorations in a single visit that left her disfigured, according to news stories.

Kathleeen Wilson filed the malpractice suit against Dr. Kevin Molldrem of Molldrem Family Dentistry in Eden Prairie. Wilson is seeking damages in excess of $50,000.

In her suit, Wilson alleges that during a more than five-hour visit in July 2020, Molldrem affixed eight dental crowns and performed four root canals and 20 fillings that left her disfigured and distressed. Also, she claimed that he provided anesthesia “well in excess of the recommended dosage,” according to reports.

Wilson sought help from other dentists to fix the work performed by Molldrem.

Furthermore, Wilson stated in her suit that Molldrem failed to “create a care plan that would effectively address decay and tooth dissolution” while simultaneously “failing to control gingival inflammation and bleeding during the visit,” according to the reports.

Molldrem attempted to falsify information about the dosage of anesthetic that was administered to her during her visit. A separate report authored by Dr. Avrum Goldstein dated November 23, 2023, asserted there were “breaches of the duty of care” performed by Molldrem, according to a news report by Fox 9 of Eden Prairie.
