A Florida dentist who reportedly evaded tax payments by hiding them in his mother’s bank account and overseas has been sentenced to two years in U.S. prison, according to a press release dated December 15 from IRS.

Dr. Frantz Brignol, who pleaded guilty to tax evasion and failing to file a tax return in April, was also ordered to pay $896,588 to the IRS.

Between 2014 and 2020, Brignol, who works at Sage Dental of Altamonte Springs, was indicted in November 2022, amassed more than $600,000 in tax liabilities to the IRS.

The dentist evaded tax payments on his income by hiding hundreds of thousands of dollars in his mother’s bank accounts, over which he had signatory authority. Additionally, he traded funds overseas in his mother’s name and made materially false statements to the IRS on financial disclosure forms, according to the release.
