Richard Saslow, chairman emeritus of Hu-Friedy Manufacturing, has died, according to HuFriedyGroup.
Saslow acquired Hu-Friedy from the company's founder, Hugo Friedman, in 1959 and served as president for 41 years. He then passed leadership of the company to his son, Ron Saslow. In a statement, HuFriedyGroup noted the supportive culture he established, with many employees sticking with the firm for up to 40 years.
Richard Saslow was named to the Dental Distributor Hall of Fame in 2013. Hu-Friedy was acquired by Cantel Medical in 2019 in a deal valued at $775 million.
