A woman was arrested for allegedly practicing at a dental practice in Georgia with a dental license that was altered to appear to be issued by the state dental board, according to multiple news stories published on June 2.

Emily Rochelle Brannon, 34, was charged on May 29 with practicing dentistry without a license and forgery. She remains free after posting a $24,000 bond, according to the stories.

In January 2022, Brannon reportedly presented a fake dental license to the staff at Byrd Dental Group in Douglasville, GA. The document was forged so that it appeared as though it was issued by the Georgia Board of Dentistry.

A month later, the police obtained warrants for the arrest of Brannon, who had fled the area. In April 2022, the board reported that Brannon complied with a request to cease and desist working under the forged license.

However, Brannon purportedly managed to elude arrest until she was captured in Tennessee on May 22, 2024. She was also charged with being a fugitive from justice, according to the stories.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
