Dental training center to open in Pa.

The University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) School of Dental Medicine, the Education and Training Center at Pitt-Titusville, and the Titusville Area Hospital are launching a regional training center to expand dental training and care in rural areas.

Opening in July 2026, the center will offer routine dental care and train dental residents, hygienists, and assistants. Two programs will be available, including a two-year dental hygiene program leading to a Pitt bachelor’s degree and a six-month dental assistant program.

Both are hybrid programs that will combine online coursework with in-person clinical training, allowing students to stay in their community while preparing for local careers.
