ADHA opposes bill, claiming it bypasses accreditation

American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) President Erin Haley-Hitz has publicly opposed Nevada Senate Bill 495, claiming it sidesteps necessary education and accreditation.

If the bill is passed and signed into law, it would allow dental hygiene licensure through a board-approved training course, bypassing accredited education programs. Haley-Hitz argued that this risks lowering professional standards.

Also, the ADHA has formally urged Nevada lawmakers to amend the bill and is working with the state’s dental hygienists’ association on this issue.
