Louisiana State University (LSU) Health New Orleans School of Dentistry has expanded its dental hygiene program, launching the first two-year program in the central part of the state.
The program has expanded to an off-campus instructional site located in Alexandria’s downtown campus and began educating students this fall. Those who complete the two-year program graduate from the LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry. The program was expanded because Alexandria is recognized as a health professional shortage area that needs dental hygienists and improved access to care.
