The ADA is now accepting applications for its John W. Stanford New Investigator award.
The award celebrates research strides made in dental standards and encourages dentists and dental students to conduct standards-based research and develop standards. It is open to ADA dental student members and members who recently graduated from dental school, as well as members who are pursuing additional degrees or specialties.
To apply, applicants must submit a statement about how their research includes current dental standards or helps to develop new standards. Applicants must also submit one of the following research documents created during the 2015-2016 academic year:
- An original, unpublished standards-related research report
- A published standards-related article
- A detailed standards-related abstract
The applications are due by October 1, 2016. The ADA will notify the winner in December, and the winner will present his or her paper at the ADA Standards meeting in San Francisco in March 2017.
