The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation of Florida has awarded Franklin County Health Department a three-year, $100,000 Impact grant to help address growing oral health disparities in the community.
The funds will be used to cover various dental services in the county's newly equipped two-chair dental clinic in Carrabelle and its two-chair clinic in the centralized school in Eastpoint, according to the department.
Oral health services will be provided to children and adolescents from low-income families, as well as Medicaid-eligible children, adolescents, and adults. Basic preventive and emergency dental services for low-income adults also will be available.
