Carestream Dental has entered into an agreement with ClearDent to integrate its Kodak dental imaging software with ClearDent's practice management software.
This integration ensures that all images are available and accessible through the ClearDent software, according to the companies. All images captured in the Kodak software will be automatically attached to a tooth or a range of teeth in ClearDent charting, enabling side-by-side viewing, Carestream noted.
The integration also provides secure recordkeeping and audit control on all clinical records and images.
Offices currently using the ClearDent imaging system can continue to use it with any 2D Kodak or CS dental imaging equipment. Later, if a practice wants to add 3D technology, the integration will automatically transfer all images in the ClearDent system to the Kodak software with no data loss, the companies said.
