Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis will offer a program in dental assisting next year, according to a news story in the South Bend Tribune.
According to Barbara MacMillan, CDA, RDH, MS, program chair of the dental education program, classes will start in January 2012 and requirements include three prerequisite courses, followed by a 12-month program that includes 300 hours of clinical training at area dental offices.
Ivy Tech has a dental lab on campus and has offered an associate degree program in dental hygiene since 2008, the Tribune noted.
