Five candidates have been short-listed as finalists in the search for a new dean for the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, according to a news article on the university Web site.
Joseph Zambon, a State University of New York (SUNY) distinguished teaching professor in the periodontics and endodontics department and associate dean for academic affairs in the dental school, is one of the five candidates for the position, according to the article.
The other candidates are Michael Glick, a professor and associate dean for oral-medical sciences at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona; Angelo Mariotti, a professor and chair of the division of periodontology at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry; Mark Ryder, a professor and chair of the division of periodontology at the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry; and Russell Taichman, a professor in the periodontics and oral medicine department at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
In the coming weeks, all five candidates will visit the campus to meet with faculty, staff, students, members of the university's senior leadership team, and selected community partners and individuals, according to the article.
