Report calls for Arkansas dental school

Arkansas has too few dentists and needs its own dental school, according to a report cited by TV station KTHV.

"The Need for Dental Education in Arkansas" report by the Arkansas Dental Study Committee states that Arkansas is second to last in the number of dentists per state resident.

Five Arkansas counties have no dentists at all, and a third of the state's children had untreated cavities as of 2003, the TV station reported.

The committee advocated starting a new dental school at the University of Arkansas Medical School.
