AADOM names 2010 office manager of the year

The American Association of Dental Office Managers (AADOM) has named Melissa Meredith, office manager for Andrew Orr, DDS, of Central Arkansas Dental, as the recipient of the 6th annual AADOM Office Manager of the Year Award, the organization announced.

Each year, the AADOM recognizes exceptional individuals who display innovative thinking, business acumen, and leadership qualities within their practice and community, and highlights their accomplishments. Meredith was nominated by her peers, the AADOM noted.

"As a young dentist with little experience in management, I can honestly say our office would not have survived without the hard work that Melissa has put in every day for the past three years," wrote Dr. Andrew Orr in his nomination of Meredith. "Due to her hard work, Central Arkansas Dental has been able to expand from one small office in Lonoke in 2007 to three thriving offices throughout central Arkansas in 2010."

Meredith's commitment to oral health and patients has expanded beyond the three practices of Central Arkansas Dental, he added. "Melissa has helped organize free dental clinics in England, Ward, and Jacksonville," Dr. Orr said. "If I'm extremely lucky, I will get to enjoy several more years of having Melissa in charge of our offices."

As the winner of the 2010 award, Meredith will receive an award package provided by CareCredit, the AADOM's founding sponsor, that includes free registration to the 2011 AADOM conference, a feature story and photo on the front cover of the Observer, and $1,000.
