Your team is one of the practice's greatest assets. Good leaders find ways to maximize the skills and abilities of their employees. Dentists who have a well-trained and motivated team will have the most successful practices.
Motivate the team. Motivation is one of the most important skills a leader uses to achieve practice goals. Leaders motivate in many different ways. Some use the power of their personality. Others educate their team with practice goals. Regardless of the technique, the leader figures out how to motivate each individual and the team. Leaders also tend to have a higher level of self-motivation, along with the ability to find external factors to motivate themselves.
Don't get involved in administrative duties. You can't do it all. That's why you have a team. You are at your best when you are chairside, providing optimal care to patients. Let your team do what they were hired to do, and you'll be on your way to achieving a more enjoyable and successful practice.
