A man in Texas who was allegedly practicing without a dental license when he botched procedures for three women, including leaving one with a third of her teeth, was arrested, according to multiple news reports published on March 5.

Gerardo Casas Fernandez, 50, was charged with three counts of dentistry act violation for botching procedures for three women. He was released from custody on March 5 after posting $67,000 in bonds.

A woman claimed that Fernandez pulled 10 of her teeth and measured her for dentures. However, she claimed Fernandez never returned with her dentures and therefore had been left in pain and with no teeth. She claimed that she paid him $1,800 for teeth removal and dentures, according to the stories.

Additionally, Fernandez allegedly went to a La Joya, TX, home and extracted some of the teeth of two sisters. Fernandez reportedly measured them for dentures, but the sisters claimed they were measured incorrectly so they didn't fit properly and caused pain.

In June 2023, the women contacted authorities about Fernandez because they thought he did a poor job and they wanted to press charges. Also, one of the women claimed that she paid $1,800 for the extractions and dentures, according to the stories.

When police caught up with Fernandez, authorities said he was noncooperative, according to the stories.
