A dental hygienist was arrested on May 13 for allegedly stealing $3,000 worth of equipment, including a handpiece, from the New York practice where she worked and reselling it online, according to multiple news reports.

Christina Mannise, 41, was arrested after Kevin Sorge Dental Office in Fayetteville, NY, the practice where she worked, discovered that equipment was missing. Mannise was charged with grand larceny.

After an internal investigation was conducted, police were informed about the missing equipment. The police investigation revealed that Mannise reportedly began stealing equipment from her employer in October 2023 and was selling multiple stolen items on eBay.

Police conducted a search at Mannise's home in Salina, NY, and purportedly recovered two pieces of stolen dental equipment, according to reports.
