The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) Division of Enforcement has filed a request for information with Dentsply Sirona.
Last week, the company reported a $1.05 billion net loss for its second quarter of fiscal 2017 (end-June 30) due to a one-time charge.
Based on the company's 10-Q filing on August 9, the SEC's Division of Enforcement has asked Dentsply Sirona to provide documents and information about the company's accounting and disclosures, including those relating to transactions with a significant distributor. The distributor was unnamed in the filing.
The company's filing stated that it is cooperating with the commission.
A Dentsply Sirona spokesperson told DrBicuspid.com that the firm would not comment further but noted that the company has filed its 10-Q in a timely manner.
