Support services company Benevis has chosen Ingate Systems to enable session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking for dental service organization Kool Smiles.
SIP trunking is a voice-over-internet protocol (VOIP) and streaming media service based on a session initiation protocol. The cost-saving measure uses virtualized session border controllers (E-SBCs) to provide SIP trunking for Kool Smiles' offices from a private branch exchange (PBX) at Benevis' data center, the company said.
Calls coming from the network are routed to the correct PBX, then sent to the remote Kool Smiles office or the Benevis call center if the office is inaccessible. The E-SBC also adds encryption for security.
Benevis also uses Ingate's software SIParator E-SBCs.
