MEA|NEA acquires healthcare communications company

MEA|NEA has acquired the White Stone Group (TWSG), a provider of healthcare communication management products.

The company is now positioned to create a single, integrated platform for the secure exchange of protected health information and communication management among patients, providers, and payors, according to MEA|NEA.

The White Stone Group's products, featuring its Trace communication suite, strengthen and complement MEA|NEA's HIPAA-compliant products for health information exchange and revenue cycle management, offering clients the secure exchange of health information and the efficient management of healthcare communication, including voice, fax, image, data, and electronic documents, according to the companies.

"We are committed to empowering medical and dental providers, payers, and partners to achieve efficiency and cost-savings through a robust offering of electronic healthcare communication and secure information exchange solutions," stated Lindy Benton, president and CEO of MEA|NEA, in a release. "Together, our solutions will enable clients to more effectively manage critical patient information that typically resides outside the electronic health record, closing the continuum on a fully accessible patient record."

Across the medical and dental markets, the combined company has more than 1 million customers. MEA|NEA will form two complementary business units -- one focused on the dental space and the other focused on the medical space.
