$47M awarded to expand clinics for patients with special healthcare needs

California awarded $47.2 million in specialty dental clinic grants to dental schools, nonprofits, and dentists in 10 counties to expand care for patients with special healthcare needs.

Proposed by the California Dental Association in 2022, the program funds clinics in both urban and rural areas and aims to enhance access to care, support prevention, and offer student training opportunities.
