The Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) installed Dr. James Carreiro as its president and named other officers at the organization’s 30th anniversary meeting in Dallas.
Carreiro is a general dentist who operates a private practice in Florida and has been using laser technology since 2007.
Other installed officers include the following individuals:
- Dr. Walid Altayeb, who operates a private practice in Qatar, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was named president-elect and 2024 conference chair.
- Dr. Grace Sun, who operates a private practice in Los Angeles, was named treasurer.
- Dr. Shigeyuki Nagai, PhD, who operates a private practice in Tokyo, was named secretary.
- Dr. Samuel Low, MS, MEd, who operates a private practice in Florida, was named immediate past president.
- Gail Siminovsky, a certified association executive in Florida who has served as executive director of ALD since 1999, was named executive director.
