The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) is launching a dental education-wide climate assessment survey that will collect data on diversity, equity, and inclusion at U.S. and Canadian dental schools and allied dental programs.

The study will include questions on well-being and engagement among specific demographic groups. The association said this study is crucial in assisting institutions with measuring perceptions regarding the campus climate.

The ADEA is partnering with Nonprofit HR to conduct the survey, which will include all 78 dental schools and more than 800 allied dental programs in the U.S. and Canada. They will work with the ADEA Collaborative on Dental Education Climate Assessment and other stakeholders to develop the survey instrument during the summer and fall of 2021. The association said survey implementation is aimed to take place in early spring 2022, and the final results will be available in fall 2022.
