Longtime dean of UCSF dental school dies

John C. Greene, DMD, MPH, former dean of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry, died on October 13. He was 90 years old.

Dr. Greene, who served as dean from 1981 to 1995, was a researcher in oral epidemiology, oral hygiene, periodontal disease, and public dental health services, according to UCSF. The university's student-run research group, the John C. Greene Society, was named in his honor.
