The University of Texas (UT) Health Science Center at San Antonio dedicated the Center for Oral Health Care & Research, the campus's newest dental clinic, on September 10.
"The new Center for Oral Health Care & Research will allow our faculty, residents, and students to provide care in a technologically advanced setting that is second to none," stated William Henrich, MD, president of the UT Health Science Center San Antonio, in a press release. "It will enable our School of Dentistry to lead the way technologically and sustain our top-tier reputation in education, research, and patient care."
The four-story clinic cost almost $100 million to build and will house the UT School of Dentistry. The clinic includes a dental surgery operating room and overnight recovery area, extra-large monitors in all exam and surgical areas, 400 dental chairs, and a new automated water system.
"We appreciate the 215 individual donors, including our wonderful alumni and faculty, who helped us complete this beautiful, energy-efficient, and technically advanced clinic," stated William Dodge, DDS, dean of the UT Health Science Center San Antonio School of Dentistry.
