Survey to gauge dental marketing effectiveness

WPI Communications has launched its third annual Dental Marketing Barometer Survey.

Dental practices will be able to use this year's survey results to obtain a full picture of marketing spending for the past two years and see projections for 2012, according to the company.

Data are compiled by marketing tactic and type of practice. The survey can be filled out here.

Respondents to this year's survey will receive a copy of "The Art of Generating Patient Referrals with a Newsletter."

The 2011 survey found that patient newsletters and newsletters to referring healthcare practitioners represent the greatest projected growth opportunities, according to WPI.

The data from the past two years indicate that dentists recognize the importance of newsletters in marketing their practices but procrastinate in implementation. Another key finding was that websites will continue to be the most popular tool, as 83% of survey respondents plan to utilize these, up from 2009 and 2010 numbers.
