S. Calif. dental clinic to serve low-income seniors

The Pasadena Community Foundation has given the city of Pasadena more than $40,000 in grants to open a dental clinic at the Pasadena Health Department that will cater to low-income seniors who do not have insurance.

The grant is on top of the almost $1.2 million that the foundation has already given over the years to support seniors, according to a story in Pasadena Living.

"After meeting with Dr. Walsh [Dr. Eric Walsh, director of the Pasadena Health Department], we recognized that we could leverage our grant funds to partner with the Pasadena Public Health Department, which was planning to build a dental clinic with other grant monies," Jennifer DeVoll, executive director of the Pasadena Community Foundation, told Pasadena Living. "Our donation would allow the expansion of the project to include two dental chairs dedicated to seniors."
