Planet DDS has introduced AppointNow, an online application used in conjunction with the company's Web-based dental software scheduler to connect skilled virtual agents with patients through live online chat.
"Scheduling a dental appointment is a very complicated task. It involves a number of variables, many of which are unique to each practice," said William Jackson, D.D.S., vice president of business development at Planet DDS. "It's easy to make an online appointment request, and there are a number of ways to accomplish that task on the Web. But to actually schedule an appointment has been technically daunting."
To use AppointNow, dental offices put a "Book Appointment Now" button anywhere where they do online marketing, such as their office website or online search directories. After clicking on the button, the patient is taken to the AppointNow application. AppointNow prompts the patient to enter all necessary information, then passes this information to a live chat agent. The agent can ask or answer any further questions, then book the appointment in real-time. The appointment is confirmed via a printable summary page and a follow-up e-mail, and the dentist is notified.
"Dentists have told us that their patients want to book dental appointments like they do their other business activities: online," said Richard Lee, Planet DDS CEO. "With AppointNow, the dentists and their patients have a solution."
