PracticeWorks debuts new software at ADA meeting

PracticeWorks Systems, exclusive maker of Kodak Dental Systems, is introducing a series of application-specific dental practice management software modules at the ADA meeting in Honolulu this week.

The eForms module, available in the first quarter of 2010, is a convenient and efficient way to collect patient information electronically, according to the company. Patients may enter information online or via a workstation kiosk, freeing staff from scanning or re-entering information. The patient's record is automatically updated with new or changed information, and patients know exactly what electronic forms they need to complete since the process is automated for their needs. It also eliminates supply costs associated with paper forms.

PracticeWorks also recently launched the Kodak Acquisition module, designed to streamline the process of capturing patient images by intuitively linking between x-ray equipment and the practice management scheduler, and the Kodak Pearl module, which enables dental professionals to manage their offices and patient needs remotely from a mobile device by providing real-time information related to common issues and scenarios that providers experience every day.

Additional future releases include modules for patient scheduling, reminder services, and referral services, the company said.

Each module will be seamlessly integrated with existing practice management systems, including Kodak PracticeWorks, SoftDent, Orthotrac, and Winoms CS Practice Management Software, and can be downloaded via the Internet, without interrupting or delaying practice workflow.

"To help customers achieve truly significant gains in productivity and software utility, we are delivering exciting new capabilities that focus on improving and automating workflow wherever possible, without the need for expensive and disruptive 'all-or-nothing' upgrades," said Patrik Eriksson, president and CEO, PracticeWorks, in a press release. "This will translate to ongoing software upgrades that give customers the flexibility to add productivity-enhancing capabilities easily and cost-effectively."
