The ADA has convened a coalition of 29 healthcare and business organizations that is urging the U.S. Congress to exclude small healthcare practices from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Red Flags Rule, according to an ADA News article.
The Red Flags Rule will be enforced starting August 1.
The coalition is supporting a bill introduced by Rep. John Adler (D-NJ) that asks that healthcare practices with 20 or fewer employees be exempt from the Red Flags Rule.
This bill was introduced during the ADA's May 11-13 Washington Leadership Conference, according to the article. It has picked up 14 bipartisan co-sponsors and has been referred to the House Committee on Financial Services.
