A graduate of Köln International School of Design in Cologne, Germany, has created a wearable dental device that can be used to operate a computer with the tongue, according to an article published on August 26 in Dezeen Magazine.
Dorothee Clasen's [In]Brace is a dental retainer fitted with a ball with a magnet on a set of rails on the underside. The wearer uses his or her tongue to move the ball forward and backward. A wire connects the device to a Wi-Fi transmitter that hooks on the ear, and all of the electronics are attached with silicon, the article stated.
The device could be useful to differently abled people, or those whose work keeps their hands occupied, according to the article.
