Introducing the new Portrait ad format
In February 2013, all of the IMV Publishing sites (AuntMinnie, AuntMinnieEurope and DrBicuspid) will be introducing a series of three new ad formats to help reduce clutter on the site and help our sponsor partners engage more with readers. For detailed information on the specs for submitting portrait ads click here now.

One of these new ad formats is the Portrait ad. At 300w x 1050h pixels in size, it’s the largest of the new ad sizes and provides exclusive sponsors of communities and other sections with three distinct app spaces that can be used in a variety of ways.
The real power of the Portrait ad format is the ability to engage the user with distinctly different kinds of messaging and allow users to interact with it. If your brand has some broad, company-wide qualities you want to convey but you still have specific products or features listed for lead generation, then this ad format is an ideal choice.
The primary app space is the largest of the three and is 270w x 460h at the default size. This space is expandable up to 613w x 460h pixels, making it perfect to use as an image gallery, show a larger video, or use as a traditional ad space.
The second and third app spaces share the same size dimensions of 270w x 220h, and both can be expanded to 405w x 303h if desired. These can play videos at the smaller size or can be used as animated ad spaces as well.
The ability to mix and match content for the space provides a powerful platform for your brand messaging. For instance, you can provide an image gallery, video demo, and feed from your Twitter pages all in one ad.

Other ways to use the space include the following:
- Show more detailed pictures of products or clinical images.
- Provide simple polling questions to engage readers.
- Stream video from your YouTube channel and then show a lead collection form when the ad expands.
- Link to your Twitter account or other RSS feed.
… and much more.
If you have other questions about how to use this ad format please feel free to contact your sales rep with questions or send an e-mail to [email protected].
