Orthodontic technology manufacturer Ormco has chosen Patrik Eriksson as the company's new president.
Current president Vicente Reynal has been promoted to group president, dental technologies for the KaVo Kerr Group, where he will manage eight dental and dental specialty businesses, according to Ormco.
During Reynal's tenure, Ormco advanced the Damon system globally and grew its digital products, including the Insignia Advanced Smile Design system and the Lythos digital impression system.
Eriksson was appointed Ormco vice president of global sales in November 2013 after serving as vice president of special projects at Ormco's parent company, Danaher. Danaher's dental group includes Dexis, Gendex, Imaging Sciences International, KaVo Kerr, Ormco, Pelton & Crane, and Soredex.
Before that, Eriksson worked at Carestream Dental for nearly 17 years. In his most recent role as president and CEO for Carestream North America, Eriksson was responsible for developing and driving the strategy for practice management software solutions, including OrthoTrac.
He attended the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden and has a master's degree from the Stockholm School of Economics.
