Journal seeks studies for special issue on dental trauma

The journal of Oral Health and Dental Management is working to publish a special issue on dental traumatology.

The issue will focus on the study of trauma or injury occurring to the mouth and teeth, lips, gums, tongue, and jaw bones. Dental traumatology as a discipline analyzes, assesses causes and risk factors, finds solutions, and suggests preventive measures and dental management planning that minimize the impact of dental trauma.

Authors are encouraged to submit papers based on new findings from original data collection or new analyses of existing data.

The following are topics to be included in the special issue:

  1. Dental emergencies
  2. Prevention and management of traumatic dental injuries
  3. Psychological and behavioral changes in patients with dental trauma
  4. Dental education promotion to enhance management of traumatic dental injuries
  5. Sports related traumatic dental injuries
  6. Injuries to supporting tissues and soft tissues
  7. Oral and maxillofacial bone fractures
  8. Complications of dental trauma
  9. Socioeconomic status and other risk factors of traumatic dental injuries

Editor in charge of the issue will be Boyen Huang, DDS, PhD, who is an associate professor of pediatric dentistry at James Cook University School of Medicine and Dentistry in Australia.
