Yelp comments prompt legal response; best way to handle late patients?

A Texas pediatric dentist was so upset by comments the mother of one of his patients posted on Yelp earlier this year that he hired a lawyer to intervene and help protect his online reputation.

Unfortunately, the lawyer "went too far" in a letter she sent to the woman, according to Dr. William Coppola of San Antonio.

Among other things, the letter threatened criminal charges and legal action if the woman did not retract her comments. But Texas has one of the toughest laws protecting individuals' rights to comment about "issues of public interest," and previous legal cases involving comments posted on social media sites have not favored dentists.
