In other dental news, a panel session this week at the American Public Health Association (APHA) annual meeting gave those outside the dental community a good overview of how the Affordable Care Act is expected to impact dental care. Options such as drug holidays and serum CTX testing exist but aren't fully reliable at this point, according to an expert panel at the recent ADA Annual Session.
And just in time for Halloween ... multidetector-row CT has helped Canadian researchers image mummies at the Redpath Museum in Montreal and reveal some interesting dental history. One male mummy in particular piqued their interest after the CT images showed a unique example of early dental intervention in ancient Egypt.
