The March issue of the Journal of the California Dental Association explores the dental services system in California and focuses on improving the oral health of the state's most vulnerable populations, the California Dental Association (CDA) announced.
"A comprehensive school-based/linked dental program: an essential piece of the California access to care puzzle," describes the goals, program elements, and challenges of building a dental services system that could reduce barriers to care, maximize resources, and employ best practices to improve oral health.
The journal also presents two economic analyses: "The impact of additional dental providers in the dental labor market on the income of private practice dentists" and "Access to dental care and the capacity of the California dental care system."
These studies are just part of a larger body of work being used to understand the challenges of access.
