Wis. city to get dental clinic for low-income patients

Rhinelander, WI, may break ground on a new dental clinic for low-income patients later this month, according to an article in the Rhinelander Daily News.

The city's planning commission approved the plan earlier this week and final approval of the project must come from the city's common council.

The clinic will accept payments through BadgerCare and Medicaid, which is not being done locally now, the Daily News reports.

The facility is expected to employ around 30 people, including five general dentists, two oral surgeons, four hygienists, and other staff members, and will also have extensive space for training dental students.

Officials hope to be able to open the clinic for business by July 1, 2011, the project manager for the construction said in the story.
