Case Western gets $1.5M gift

A $1.5 million gift will help Case Western Reserve University's School of Dental Medicine endow its first chaired position, according to a report in Crain's Cleveland Business.

Alumnus R. William Cornell Jr., D.D.S., donated the money "to support the school that gave me the knowledge and skills to build a career in a field I love," the newspaper said. The money will support the Dr. and Mrs. R. William Cornell Jr. endowed professor in Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Cornell held several positions at Case Western before joining the faculty at Northwestern University and since retiring volunteers at the Collier County Health Department Dental Clinic in Naples, FL, according to the report.
