Univ. of Central Lancaster names new dental research director

Professor StJohn Crean, B.D.S., M.B.B.S., Ph.D., a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery, has been appointed director of dental research and knowledge transfer at the University of Central Lancaster.

Dr. Crean will work within the university's Institute for Postgraduate Dental Education. He previously held the post of associate director of undergraduate dental studies at Peninsula Dental School for two years.

In his new role, Dr. Crean's primary focus will be to establish UCLan as one of the foremost primary dental care research institutions while building on the university's expertise in clinical environment research.

Dr. Crean is also the Robert Bradlaw advisor in the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, associate clinical professor in dental implantology at the University of Warwick, and current president of the British Society of Oral Implantology.
