Ohio county gets dental clinic for underserved children

Licking County, OH, will soon have a dental clinic for underserved children, according to a news story in The Newark Advocate.

The Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is creating the program with the help of a $75,000 award by the Licking County Foundation's William E. and Annie S. Miller Memorial Fund.

The clinic will serve uninsured low-income children in the county. It will offer basic dental procedures, such as exams, cleanings, restorations, and tooth extractions.

"The message we were hearing consistently was that there were children without dental insurance who needed access to dental care," said Rob Montagnese, president and CEO of LMHS, in the story. "We felt it was consistent with our mission of improving the health of the community."
