Michigan county to roll out mobile dental unit

The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners in Michigan approved a $437,000 mobile dental unit and about $63,000 of dental equipment to start a mobile clinic, according to a news story in the Kalamazoo Gazette.

The clinic should be assembled and operating by spring 2010, the newspaper reported. It will service schools, community centers, and facilities for seniors, with two dentist's chairs and equipment for filling cavities and cleaning teeth.

Some 2,100 patients a year are expected to use the mobile clinic, which will operate at least three days a week, according to the story.
