A-dec announces layoffs

Dental equipment provider A-dec announced Thursday that it is cutting 100 jobs throughout its U.S. operations.

The Newberg, OR-based company also said it plans a limited number of position reassignments in the coming weeks. The cuts affect 10% of A-dec's workforce.

"We had hoped that a wage freeze would be enough to help us through this challenging time. Unfortunately, it has become clear over the past few months that additional action is necessary," said Scott Parrish, A-dec president, in a press release.

A-dec makes dental chairs, stools, delivery systems, dental lights, cabinetry, and handpieces.
